Downton Abby Costumes

ravenrigan and I spent Saturday at Bluewater, at the Glow event halls, where there was a lovely mini version of the Knitting and Stitching show, complete with a display of Downton Abby costumes...

There was one display stand with half a dozen or so items.  Not a lot, but some choice pieces.

Lovely embroidery detail...

The embroidery on the red lace is machine done, but very pretty.  Indian Bling at its finest!

The frogging is rather nice, though I needed to get better pictures...

It's a pitty this came out a bit fuzzy.  It's very pretty.

This is delicately pretty.

Some detaols of Maggie's lovely purple lace Dowager gown:

Lace jabot and dotted tulle blouse...

OK, after gawping at that lot for a while, I wandered off and looked at so,me lovely pieces from the lace guild museum:

I did take a few pix of the fashion show.  They didn't come out so well as the camera was on the wrong setting...  Ho hum!  New camera and still figuring it all out!  But I got a few fun shots...

Extreme Crochet!

Jenny Rayment!  Queen of Calico, loads of fun to talk to later at her stall.  I bought a coup[le of her books, too.  She writes like she speaks: demented machine spray of words!

While there was other fun stuff on the catwalk, I didn't get good pictures of it, and Jenny was definitely the highlight of the show, in terms of design, workmanship, and presentation. It was a fun day out.
