That opening scene of the West Wing is surely one of my favorites of all time as well.

I can watch the show over and over, even though I can practically quote entire scenes..they never fail to amaze and delight me.

Let the questioning begin:

1. What would your idea job be?

2. What's your favorite episode in CM..any season, including the present one?

3. What's the one food you could never, ever be persuaded to eat?

4. What do you reach for when you want 'comfort' food?

5. Who is your least favorite character on The West Wing and why?

I'm looking forward to reading your answers!

Glad you decided to play!

1. If you could change places with a fictional character in a book..which book and which character would you pick?

2. What would your ideal job be?

3. What is your favorite place to visit in Australia and why?

4. What is your favorite comfort food? Something you make for yourself or purchase at a grocery or restaurant?

5. What is your favorite TV series (USA/British import or Ozzie) ever? Why?

1. Definitely Lark in the Circle of Magic books (beautiful poly friendly temple community! tea! gardens!) because well, she and I share some similarities.

2. I used to say I wanted to be a female version of Sam Seaborn (speechwriter/policy wonk) though these days I love the idea of working with a non profit that works with babies/queer families.

3. Sydney (though Melbourne is a close second). I grew up there to an extent - it's jasmine vines and gorgeous tropical evenings and getting lost in jumbles of streets and greenery and people. I love the beaches, the parks, the restaurants and having ice cream by the beach and watching people.

4. Toast (sadly this is true - with butter and vegemite on one piece and butter and sprinkles on another. And a big cup of tea. Best thing ever). Or bagels for the NYC association (meal? Couscous with chicken and salad).

5. Criminal Minds. It's my ID show, it has my favourite cast as family ever and well, I met my beloveds through the show so :)

Toast...with cinnamon, or strawberry jelly if it's wheat toast. I could eat cinnamon toast all day long! Thanks for playing! *hugs*

Cool! I never watched "The West Wing" although I've always heard amazing things about it.

And yes, I would love the recipe!

"The West Wing" was one of the most awesome TV series I have ever seen. If you ever have a chance to watch it, I highly recommend it. (Our library has it available to check out on DVD)
Outstanding writing, plotting, acting, directing..it had it all.

I will hunt down my copy of the recipe and put it up here as soon as I find it. (Which will hopefully be tomorrow..which is actually today, but I mean..Friday.) Hope your foot is doing well and your Mom, also.

Teh recipe!

Round-steak special (what our family always called it)

1 lb round steak (3/4" thick)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 medium clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 can Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup
1 can (151/2 oz.) kidney beans, drained (I omitted this)
2 cups cooked noodles
1 can (about 8 oz.) stewed tomatoes

Freeze meat 1 hour to firm (makes slicing easier);slice into
very thin strips. In skillet, cook onion with seasonings in oil until just tender; push to one side.
Add meat; cook until color changes. Add remaining ingredients. Heat; stir occasionally. Makes about 6 cups.

Variations: I never put in the kidney beans, no one would have eaten them. I used stewed tomatoes that had a little onion and green pepper in them for a little more flavor and usually sprinkled it with garlic salt instead of mincing a clove. It reheats very well. Enjoy! (Must find cooking icon!)
