Ex Libris Idiotus

Things That I thought were unacceptable behaviors in a library:

1. Talking on your cell phone, especially after we had to listen to your obnoxious polyphonic ring tone for thirty seconds.

2. Children running and screaming.

3. Standing idly by while your children are running and screaming.

4. Telling jokes to your sorority sister, you know, the one who has the uncontrollable laugh that sounds like a hyena with a chest cold?

5. Instructing your child, in a LOUD voice, that "This is the grown-up section of the library and people are here to study. This part isn't made for kids to run and play in like the downstairs part is." I can think of something VERY wrong with that statement, besides the delivery.

6. Eating and drinking, especially the slurping through a straw part.

7. Sitting in the parking lot blasting your stereo. The fact that it's gospel music does not excuse you, Jesus hates a show-off, too.

My, how times have changed. Well, I wasn't able to get The Long Emergency, but I did get Augusten Burroughs' Dry, which I've been dying to read. Actually, I'm pretty much dying to read anything of his, but I figured I'd start with the one about being a piece-of-crap drunk. I like to relate to my authors, ya know?

books, assholes, library, brats
