I've done some pretty dumb things when I was hungry, but getting a slice of pizza on my way home to fix dinner wasn't the dumbest. Bc getting a slice of pizza on my way home when I had leftover pizza in the fridge was dumber.

With the temperature so moderate, I've been leaving my thermostat off, which means the air doesn't circulate in my apt. This is the third or fourth night recently where I had to get up in the middle of the night to open the windows.
Good thing Nala recommended an excellent sleep aid made just for me. I half believe coffeea cruda is just sugar pills, but such effective ones at that.

I've done quite a few hobbies in my life and none has given me as much trouble as horseback riding. How can it be so difficult to schedule a lesson that's that expensive?? I literally have never worked so hard to get a restaurant reservation in my life - and y'all know how I love food. And half an hour costs as much as my weekly silks classes! Grr.
And then, I finally scheduled one - and found out the instructor's name is
Danielle. The guy on the phone didn't know if she'd taught at Claremont, but if the stables in Manhattan closed, wouldn't one assume the instructors would move to another stables in the 5 boros? Maybe one nearby? Perhaps that's why she was available :-P
Re-reading that post, I think I'm going to cancel the lesson. After babbling on this topic for hours at Stick last night, I've come to realize that
(1) not every vacation has to be trained for, (2) they have plenty of beginner horses and instructors at
Epona and while it's a waste for me to fly to Spain for riding lessons, maybe I'll learn something? (3) even if I took twice a week lessons for the next four months, I still wouldn't be an awesome enough rider to appreciate Andalucian horses, and (4) I have no equestrian ambitions beyond this one trip. Maybe someday I'll move to the suburbs and finally learn to jump. Too bad the two fox hunters I dated were dicks.

I really want to see Cirque du Soleil for my birthday, but with the timing of the High Holidays, I can't take a long weekend and I'm so not flying to Las Vegas by myself for one night's entertainment. Even if I have a likely-to-go-unused JetBlue ticket. Maybe for my personal birthday present, I should get a car service to drive me somewhere for a riding lesson or trail ride.
