3.5 Stars (out of 5)
Told from the alternating perspectives of June and Day, Legend is another addition to the growing list of dystopian young adult reads. Each of our characters has gained a lot of attention from the Republic’s government, but for two very different reasons. June is their Star, Day is their Most Wanted, and the two of them couldn’t have more different views of the world around them. Their lives begin to intertwine when the world crashes down around them.
This book is full of strong characters, mystery, action, suspense, and tragedy, with romance on the side. The story is well written and enjoyable. It’s the first in a series, the rest of which is as of yet unpublished. The second one has a publication date in January of 2013 and it will definitely be on next year’s to-read list.
