You know what is not a good idea when you have a slightly overactive imagination? Spending half the night reading Crime Library and then following that up by watching Torchwood. Because when the power goes out right after some creepy shit appears in the episode, and there's no light at all in your room, and your VCR (because you're stuck in the 20th century, thank you very much) starts flickering due to its backup source, and there's absolutely no noise coming from anything anywhere -- no passing cars, nothing -- let me tell you, you may freak out just a little. Possibly.
Fortunately, the power was only out for about 15 seconds, but it was enough to deter me from actually finishing that Torchwood episode tonight. I didn't think I scared so easily, but I'm so spooked right now that I'm going to leave on my computer overnight just to have some ambient noise. Gah.
