I like to think that, in another place and another time, these two could have actually been great friends. Of course, that would require Cate to not have brutally slaughtered Liv's entire family, forcing Liv to initiate a centuries' old quest for Cate's blood which resulted in a lot of bloodshed by proxy (and several melodramatic scenes where they both stood around in the rain at night, wearing pointy-toed boots and playing with throwing stars).
