Weird 51st Century Doctors Verdict: Healthy!

Eiko: Healthy!

Look Jack! Non, gender-specific bedding like I said. But if it's a girl, I'm so adding pink.

Aw, it's perfect! ...I like that crib, too. Very retro.

Also -- what is the obsession with pink? Though the right shade would look really excellent with that green.

Oh, Jack. You're talking to someone who fits every gender specific role there is. I cook. I sew. I clean. I'm a girly-girl and what's more is I like it. :-p

What's wrong with pink for girls?

Yes, but I'm sure you could also kick my ass if you felt so inclined, which doesn't fit with your "feminine" gender role. So don't act all innocently oblivious to breaking those barriers. ♥

Nothing, it's just a little stereotyped. I mean, if it goes with your theme, it's great. I just hate those overwhelming, assault-to-your-senses and nothing-but-pink rooms for little girls.

Maybe. I'm sure you have a gadget though that'd knock me on my butt if I tried.

Eww. I don't like nothing-but-one-color rooms for anyone. If it's a girl, I was going to paint the walls chocolate with pink, blue, and green polka dots all on the walls.

Not in a million years, darling. (I mean, I do have one, sure, but I wouldn't use it.)

That's very retro chic. I definitely love the idea.

...so you're hoping for a girl, then?

You say that now but the pregnancy hormones havn't really kicked in yet. :P

I like the elephant set. I think I'll just get the bedding and do everything else myself. I'm very particular, as you know.

No. A boy. :D What are you hoping for?

I don't know if I should be really excited or just a little scared. ♥

Everything else like what? Do I get to help? ...I have no problem taking orders from a beautiful woman.

Just a beautiful healthy baby, Kate.

I'm not going to tell you which. :D

Curtains, pillows, matching burp cloths, painting, decorating, and all those sorts of things. I don't know. I'm very, very particular. How good are you at putting things together, like cribs and changing tables?

You're so cute. ♥

I love surprises.

Hey, didn't you see those new shelves in my office? ...okay, I might have had a little help from three Time Lords and their sonic screwdrivers, but I could've done it on my own. Just a lot slower. Bottom line, hey, I'm handy. I can do those things. I'm a man, right? Right.

We'll see if you love this. ;)

I saw them. Aren't you soniced up Jack? ♥

The evidence does suggest that you are a man but I know how you are about gender specified roles.

I am, but the special features really drain the battery. ♥

Well, according to the twenty-first century, if I have a penis I need to be able to put furniture together. So that I can do. Though I'm afraid that my ability to do this awful, gender stereotyped thing, in addition to a love for musical theater, will break something vital to the timeline.

By the way, Toshiko informs me that she knows we're having a baby girl and would like to shop for (I'm assuming frilly and pretty and "girly") pink things for the baby.

Special features? So that's what they call it in the 51st century? ♥

I don't feel myself fading away so I think we're okay.

She knows we're having a girl? Really? What? Did she use some gadgetry? Is she psychic? There is nothing wrong with pink, frilly things for little girls.

I don't think she knows-knows, but she has a feeling and I'm not going to talk about womanly intuition because that's pretty sexist. But she's excited -- which is more than I can say for anyone else here at the Hub -- and wants to smother you with baby-brand affection.
