Back from Nevada....
...where I sketched, a LOT. One my my favorite spots is the courtyard of our hotel, the Hawthorn Inn and Suites in Henderson.
In the mornings, it's cool and inviting here in the courtyard, with benches, chairs, and lovely things to sketch.
Coffee and watercolors, what could be better?
I did only a very light pencil sketch for position and perspective, then worked wet in wet as long as I could. I added touches of ink to give it a bit of sparkle and definition. Gorgeous, quiet place...not a bit like you'd expect just a few miles from The Strip and all the glitz.
