I don't call this thing "the Quicksilver Workaholic" for nothing. Work keeps me from stressing too much....except, of course, when I'm stressing about work. ;-)
In the midst of all the class work and getting ready for
kateslover to visit, I managed to finish the new "Drawn from Life; An Artist's Journal Vol. II" CD, and have already gotten orders for it. I got in my own copies of it yesterday, too, so it's available from me as well as from my CafePress store. You can find the new one here:
www.cafepress.com/cathy_johnson along with all my other artists' CDs and gear. Now I need to ask Sonya at
http://morgansites.com to get it on the webpage!)
This is the final count on images for this one--there will be more in Volume III, because I started back on my journal then. The period covered in this one held a great deal of life and death, and it took a LONG time to finish it.
Managed to get the new art tip up on my website, too, the day J. got here--this one is on drawing noses, and I got so carried away with artwork and demos that the next tip will be part 2 of "on the nose"!!
Part 1 is here:
www.cathyjohnson.info/tips.html The young Goth Angel in the first illustration reminds me a bit of J.'s daughter, for some reason, and always has...I love her face. The face on the left is how my friend Beth really looks, with her elegant Roman nose; the turned-up nose on the right was Photoshopped. A very pretty girl, but--not Beth.
It's been a good week for eBay, too--I really needed something to distract me from Clare's hospital hassles, and having to take care of business is my usual panacea. Some lovely person bought a LOT of paintings, a book, and a CD, then went to the CafePress store and bought more CDs and a clock. (If you're out there, THANK YOU.)
So I've been making up the Certificates of Authenticity and waiting to hear from the last two paintings so I can ship everything together. I sent out one package to her yesterday, but the rest of this all came in at once.
Getting ready for the open house at Olde English Garden Shoppe last week, J. and I went and picked up frames and mats for more paintings on Friday--we got them over to the shop on Saturday morning, and refreshed the display. I brought most of the framed collages home, and have them up on eBay now. I think I'm going to list some of my acrylics later today...
And now that it is FINALLY sunny, start photographing fabric and collectibles for my katestreasures ID there. Lots, lots, LOTS more to get rid of if there's to be room for Joseph when he retires. This is the kind of incentive I love...
