Ignore all the different links and click the top one.  LJ and my email don't agree, I guess.

The very bottom of the post is my original e-mail, and from there up is the chain it went through to finally get a thumbs down :P

Stephanie,

I am sorry but I really cannot get someone to spare the time to talk to
you about this.  We get hundreds of requests for assistance and our
officers time is very precious.

I feel sure that if you do a book review or a search on google you would
be able to find many different view-points about the issue of whether
the police in the UK should be armed or not.

Good luck.

Steve

Subject:                      Request for e-mail interview
Your enquiry:                 Hello, my name is Stephanie Derksen, and
I'm an undergraduate student attending North Dakota State University.
For my Criminalization class this semester, we're required to write a
term paper on a controversial topic of our choice, and to take a side.
I've decided to write my term paper on the issue of whether or not all
Scotland Yard employees should be allowed/required to carry firearms.

I was therefore wondering if I could perhaps 'interview' a higher
ranking official, or if not, just someone who works on the streets
regularly?  It would be a huge help to my project!  If not, I appreciate
you taking the time to read my request, and wish you all a pleasant day!

Thank you again.
