Title: Just A Joke
Rating: PG
Warnings/Spoilers: Implied slash
Summary: Marsh didn't know why Wes was getting so worked up. It was just a joke.

The music started, and the nervous tenor stepped up slightly. They had only just finished recording this song the other day, and he wasn’t entirely sure he could remember all of the words.

Kevin started up the guitar, and the other members started snapping. Except one. Wes took a deep breath to start the new song with the customary high note, when a sudden echoing “Go get ‘em tiger” resounded around the auditorium, and a hand planted itself firmly and quickly on his rear, pushed him out, and retreated. The snapping and guitar stopped, the crowd laughed, and the now very-much pissed off tenor stood and smiled as best he could; a strained, humorless smile. The man that had violated him stood laughing as well, and a cold fury built up inside him. Pushing it away quickly as the guitar re-started, he took another deep breath.

*~*
"What the HELL was that for?!” Marsh backed away slightly, staring wide-eyed at the irate tenor advancing on him.

“What?! What’d I do?!” Wes had backed him into the bathroom, and slammed the door behind them, cramping them in.

“You know exactly what you did. How could you do that in front of all of those people?!” Marsh, still with his hands up in surrender, lowered his eyebrows slightly.

“Is that what you’re mad about? A pat on the back?” Wes nearly growled.

“You know very well that is NOT the part of me that you touched. How…how could you? After…after…” Marsh now forced his hands down, glaring at the tenor.

“Don’t you DARE go reading more into what it was than it was. I was trying to calm you dow-”

“Calm me? CALM me?! You dick, you nearly made me throw up! I can‘t believe you!” He turned--an amazing feat in a bathroom of such size--and glared at the door, hand on the knob. “I thought I told you to leave me alone now that we’re done. Just leave me alone Marsh.”

Wes walked out and changed quickly, not looking at Kevin, Rory, or Guy as he did. He was already in his bunk and laying on his side facing the wall before Marsh came back out. He heard low voices talking, and heard his name once or twice, but didn’t listen hard enough to care.

The others went to the main living area of the bus, and Wes heard the clinking of bowls and the opening of the freezer as the men went for the Ben & Jerry’s. “Wes?” His name was spoken so quietly he’d have thought he’d imagined it if he hadn’t been able to feel Marsh’s presence behind him. He didn’t respond, however, and Marsh gave a somewhat defeated sigh and went to join the others.

When Marsh woke up the next morning, the sun was rising, and Wes was gone. He was home. Based on: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/jeangray/303375526.jpg
