So, Ryan is laying on the futon watching the Deadwood and I am taking advantage of his distraction to use the laptop. Yay me! Life has been relatively uneventful I think, but I'll run through the latest events.
I went home in March. I was home for about a week. The flight there was uneventful. Spent a few days in Rochester visiting with friends there and attending Erin's wedding. The wedding was very nice. Nontraditional in some ways but really quite nice. I thought that the non-traditional portions came off well and everything was certainly beautiful. I felt horrible for Erin though as she was sicker then a dog and barely able to talk. She looked beautiful though and managed to have a face that radiated happiness even though speaking was difficult.
Then I went home to Phoenix! Yay!!! I got to see my uber cute niece who I am continually reminded of when I see babies. She's so big and so damn cute and smart to boot! I spent time with her and all the family which was awesome. Funny baby related story: I was hanging with my sister and Madeline and Chrisann was sitting on the floor with her. She was standing Maddie up and resting her little arms on the little ottoman that she had in front of her. Maddie was standing there and all the sudden she just flopped backwards and she landed in Chrisann's lap. I laughed and Maddie looked at me and smiled. Chrisann stood her back up and she stood for a few seconds and then flopped back down and I laughed again. Well then it was a game so she kept doing it and looking at me expecting me to laugh which made me laugh more because she was doing it on purpose. She's only 9 months, I told my sister she was in trouble because her husband is the type to laugh at things that maybe Maddie shouldn't be doing but yet may seem comical.
Moving on, I got back out here without too much craziness. Ryan and I had a couple rough weeks of readjustment. It's strange to me that we have times when things are great and times when things suck. Not a whole lot of middle ground. We do have a reservation tomorrow for dinner that should be good though at an Argentine restaurant.
I've been reading voraciously lately. Love the reading and I remember why as of late. It's so relaxing and mentally stimulating for me. I need to go get a library card, I might venture out to do that tomorrow. Should be good so I can at least get a couple books from the library. The library is only down about a block and a half and it's the main branch of the public library so it's good size. I need to seriously look in to classes but since I don't have a computer I'm putting it off. Ryan has said that he will give me this laptop once he finishes classes. Which should be within a year. I figure I'm already paying on loans so there's no point in rushing things to get in to classes. I do want to get in to classes within a year though so I can start on my nursing degree which was my decision in terms of career path.
I miss having friends though I have to say. I don't have close female friends here and I miss that. Hopefully I'll make more friends as time moves on. I looked in to book clubs but I didn't find anything that looked hopeful I should do some more research I think. It's been gorgeous weather though so it would be nice to get out and enjoy it. Maybe I'll go over to Balboa Park. It's close by and it's got some gorgeous scenery. I think the main deterrant is the fact that when living someplace this densely populated there are always people. Never anything where you can just enjoy nature without a million other people being around. I do miss that quite a bit about New York. Solitude. Strange what you miss when you don't have it anymore.
Anyways, time for some reading and bed assuming that Deadwood is not an all night marathon.
