Ultimate Spider-Man #18: Ultimate Knights
by Brian Michael Bendis & others
I was worried about Peter after the last volume. The clones definitely put a new wrinkle in his life. And he's still working through it here, as there's tension between Kitty Pride and MJ and Aunt May doesn't completely trust or understand him yet. But when Daredevil shows up at his school and can TELL immediately who Spider-Man is just from hearing him walk and breathe, it sets off a huge project. Daredevil recruits a bunch of questionable heroes to finally take down the Kingpin. Things go very badly with the plan indeed as the lynchpin is a character who's a bit... unstable. And it all comes down pretty hard on Spider-Man.
I thought this was a good way of continuing the story while still writing a nice contained story arc.
