Wallace's Lists
by Barbara Battner and George Kruglik
I love making lists. So when I came across this book in the library about an obsessivly rule-following, list-following little mouse, I just had to read it!
This is an adorable book. Wallace does indeed make lists. And the lists tell him what he has done, what he likes, and what he can do during the day. Ironically, I have a daily list right now called "To Do 6/30/13" and one of the items is "Book reviews" and in order to write the reviews, I went to my Google Docs to the doc called "List of Books to Review" where this book was among those listed. Thus, I can relate to Wallace :-)
But then Wallace meets Albert. And Albert doesn't make lists. He lives by the seat of his pants, waking up one morning and deciding to go travelling, for example! Albert brings to Wallace's life a sense of adventure and the chance to experience new things. But he also brings a bit of panic--Albert could be injured during some of his adventures! So Wallace goes to the rescue. What results is a nice balance of adventure and planning. And a strong friendship they both can enjoy. Awww.
