Where Lincoln Walked!

A few Lincoln biographies have gone missing at the library (not unexpected as it was recently President's Day). One of my jobs at the library is to search for books on the Missing List. A particular book caught my eye tonight: Where Lincoln Walked by Raymond Bial:


Eagerly, I grabbed the book and started flipping through it, looking for my favorite Lincoln location. No, it's not the White House or Ford's Theater or even President Lincoln's Cottage at the Soldiers' Home. No, my favorite place Lincoln walked is in Gettysburg. Specifically, this place:




That's right! He didn't stop by the tree or rest against the tree or anything like that, he just passed by the tree. And, yet, it was that important to constitute a plaque. But did it make Raymond Bial's book? No! What a pity. Maybe it'll make the sequel book: Things Lincoln Passed.
