One think I like about the US is Q-Tips (Post 5 of 30)

In Japan the cotton of q-tips are really tightly wrapped. So it's like the little cardboard (or whatever) wand has just this tiny tiny bit of cotton on the end. For some reason it made cleaning my ears really difficult - as if that tight wrap just couldn't get *in* there and pick up like American q-tips can. Sam actually pointed it out to me,

i know, right? neither had i until Sam pointed it all out to me, and then it became... well, a little weird.

I don't think I've ever seen a cotton bud (q-tip!) without a plastic middle bit!
