EXACTLY ITA. House was who was sexy for me. I think we talked about this once, how I would never have found hugh sexy before i saw him as House. And with Cameron it was always so charged and ... beautiful, really. there was this innocence and underlying understanding between them. at least i thought so until TPTB decided to tell us that, No, there wasn't and we were just a bunch of lovesick idiots who thought there was.
I actually think Hugh will stay until the wheels fall off. He's not stupid. He's got a steady job and he probably knows that he's not going to go off and become the next George Clooney. He's getting older and it's nice to get those 15 million dollar paychecks for 6 months of filming vs. struggling to find a good film role. he's probably very cushy where he is, despite the hard working schedule and being away from his family. I always found something very weird about that. I wouldn't be surprised to find that he and his wife have been separated for a while. he always tried to say it was so that his kids could stay where they grew up but... really... they're all almost or over 18 now. moving to another country would be amazing for a lot of kids. i couldn't not see my husband but for 2 months out of the year. that's insane. something seems strange about that situation....
anyway... i'm glad i stopped watching exactly when i did because i didn't want to end up resenting the show and the time i wasted on it. now, i don't feel like i wasted any time... i got a lot out of it. it just disappointed me in the end. the saddest part is that, even if they didn't have House and Cameron get together, they could have killed her off in some tragic or meaningful way.... something that had an influence on House that paid tribute to his initial (and continuing, despite whatever they may try to convince everyone of) feelings for her. They could have even developed into a wonderful mentor/student relationship. going from a woman who was in love into realizing he was a lifelong friend or something. But no. the show is so childish and from what i've heard continues to be so.
for me it was always about Hugh as House
