A lot of people felt X Files lost it's "umph" a lot earlier. I disagree. The show certainly evolved but I still liked it for a long time.
I guess it's dependent on what you watched the show for. I mean, to be honest, the appeal of X-Files for me was never the stories. Sure there were some fabulous stories here and there but it was the relationship between M&S that had me completely obsessed! so when that fell off when Mulder was 'abducted', i pretty much stopped watching. Up until that point I enjoyed most of the stories and could tolerate the ones I didn't like because of the MS interaction, if nothing else. I watched a few episodes after Requiem and really liked both Doggett and... believe it or not... Monica. I actually liked them both. But it just wasn't the same without M&S. I found that the stories which I somewhat liked before had devolved into real silliness (the butt genie, anyone?) by the last 2 seasons.
and that just wasn't the show we knew and loved. :( exactly.
Yeah, the ending of the Cameron House thing was just horrendously handled.
Never in 20+ years of shipping have i ever seen anything like that. I mean, i try to explain it to other people and i just can't. and the worst part is i'm not sure who's to blame. was it all katie jacobs's fault? was it david shore's doing? is it the writers'?
it's so frustrating to try and enjoy a show who's production team clearly hates its fans. and the sad thing is that I promise that house cuddy fans are going to end up screaming in frustration. And I really hope that isn't the case. As much as I wanted HCam and as much as i hate cuddy, i would like at least one section of the show's fans to be happy. But it seems like the production team over there just want everyone to be pissed off! they can't let anyone be happy.
They brought her back for nothing. It was so stupid.
oh my gosh, i didn't know that. i'm so glad i stopped watching. i heard that jen left the show but i assumed that was it... she was just written off. it would have been better that way. damn i hated her and chase!
And now that they're together, the show will completely fall apart. I'm actually quite surprised at myself for not having dropped the show completely. I mean, I've felt this way since the end of season 3. And we maybe only get 2 excellent episodes a season now.
i have to admit, i've wondered if the show got better after jen left and house cuddy got together (they are together, right? i'm assuming). but from what you and my friend reka have told me, it's gone super downhill. i guess bringing in the new team hasn't worked out. have they brought in more people? are olivia kal and peter still on or did house have another team brought in? i remember katie jacobs making a big deal about why it was important that house get a new team.. she said that it didn't make sense to have the 3 ducklings still there after 3 years. so by those standards, the newbies should have left. of course i'm guessing they're still there and that all that bullshit jacobs gave us was simply that... bullshit!
I don't think they HATE their fans. I mean, the fans keep them in a job. But they certainly don't appreciate them the way they used to.
Yeah, she left. And I was quite content with the way she left. It made me cry. And then they were like, yeah, we left it too open ended. We're bringing her back for one more episode to better close up her storyline. And then they did dick all with her storyline!
Yeah, they're together now. That was the finale cliff-hanger
olivia, peter, and Omar are still there. Well, actually, I think olivia is away for a few episodes because it's like she's going on a trip or something. Kal's character killed himself a while ago, though. lol (sarcastically) I WONDER WHY!
