I'll scour my sent mails. I think I sent you at least one that wasn't replied to ... but then the last week or so has been a fog.
The documentary sounds as if it's right up our alley. I think I'll rent it though. As a general rule, I have a hard time watching anything besides your vids or YouTube stuff on my computer. The screen is quite small.
My birthday is a week from Monday and tomorrow I'm having dinner with three of my former history professors from college. We're going to what is reputed to be an "authentic" Chinese place in Grand Rapids. It should be fun. It's me and three charismatic men in their 60s and 70s. And then this week sometime my brother, who is a great cook, is making me a birthday dinner. And on the weekend, Doug and I will go eat someplace great. I hope the Chinese place is as good as people in the know are saying.
Hey, I'm looking for a fic that piggybacks off "Merry Little Christmas." Let me know if you know of any good ones. I'm also looking for good fics that place Cameron at House's bedside after he sticks the knife in the electrical socket.
This week I watched a bunch of House epis for inspiration. And then I watched the kiss from Half-Wit many times in a row. How pathetic is that???
Sharp read my draft of my WYFM chapter and thinks its tone is too different from the other chapters, and she's right, I think. But, I could make it into a pregnant sex one shot for you if you like ....
I hope your daughter is feeling better and that you managed not to catch her bug ...

re: fics. Oh gosh, i honestly haven't read many fics lately. Definitely make a request at HC... you're likely to get an answer there. It's funny because i often get requests to help find a fic and i'm not sure why. i probably read less fic than any HC fan out there. I only read a handful and the ones I like make it on my site. I haven't updated the fic list in forever, though. I have so many saved from this past year but I have to make up pages for them. Oy!
re: watching the kiss... so not pathetic. Are you kidding? I watch various hc clips pretty much daily. I miss them so much. honestly, i do. It's such a shame what TPTB have taken away. so if you're pathetic, then I'm the queen of all that's pathetic in the kingdom of dorkworld.
re: the fic... write whatever you feel comfortable with. If you don't like it, don't post it. I know i tease you about hurrying up and posting a chapter but that's honestly all it is... teasing. please don't feel pressured. I can wait ; ). don't worry so much!
here's my advice, take it or leave it: write something completely new. completely outside any fic you're currently writing. don't even get close to a plot. NO PLOT. make it a one shot and STICK to that. don't go into it knowing it has to evolve into something more. Don't even worry about spelling, grammar...nothing. just write something quick and simple. an after-sex scene, or a simple scene where house sees her from across the room and just has a reflectional moment. A moment when Cameron realizes she really is in love with him... not just a crush. It doesn't matter- there are a thousand scenarios to choose from. You don't even have to post it. In fact, go into it thinking you won't. This is what I do whenever I have writer's block or, worse, I'm not satisfied with anything I'm writing (and, honestly, the best stuff I've ever written comes from doing this. I bet you'll end up loving it. planning something never ever works for me).
And if you really like it, post it. if it's rubbish, oh well! but keep it as a one shot, short chapter. less is more!!!
re: sick kid. So far I'm fine and she's better, too. it was a freaky 1 day thing. she was already milking the attention by the end of the first day so i knew she'd be fine. hehehee. i remember being like that when i was a kid. anything for ice cream and to stay home from school.
thanks for the mails if there were any. i honestly have no idea which ones i got or responded to because all of my mail folders were erased somehow. very weird!

As usual, your advice saves my sanity and then some. It's great, great advice and make the writing sound fun again -- although I had fun writing the second part of "Need."

My thing right now is wanting more to come after the kiss in Half-Wit. I want her to unbutton the first three buttons of his shirt while he looks down at her. I want her hair to be beautiful, the way it looked in "No Reason," and I don't want the fucking needle to factor in.
