The federal government does NOT rescue animals they come across while on rescue missions to find survivors of Katrina. However, the Humane Society has members in New Orleans and the surrounding areas who are solely there to rescue animals who were abandoned, lost, or not allowed to be taken into shelters along with their families. So please donate the Humane Society HERE.
And while you're at it, Urban Decay also has a special bracelet that they have made in order to support the fact that they never have- and never will- use animal testing while producing their products. All proceeds also go to the Humane Society, so you can find that HERE.
Even if you don't have the money because of everyday life, at the very least repost this on livejournal/myspace/whatever.
