Did you know that tea has been around for 4,500 years? Yes! Chinese mythology tells us that one day in 2737BC, the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, who was also a herbalist, was sat underneath a tree drinking hot water. A leaf fell from a nearby wild tea tree and landed in his cup. This is how the tea was born.
Afternoon tea originated sometime in the early 1800's as Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford decided that having "tea" at four or five in the afternoon would be a genteel way to keep the ladies stomachs from gurgling until dinner. It just so happened that this idea combined beautifully with a snack the Earl of Sandwich thought up...

I am verily keen to go to Claridge's and try Silver Needles. I should imagine it will be £100 a pot, but delicious, I am certain.

I've missed the Klimt exhibition at the Tate in Liverpool, but will hopefully be seeing Death Cab for Cutie, either in Birmingham or London, depending which one of my accompiants gets ticket money first. I hope it's Rob :)
