Newhaven: Week Six - The Charles Family

Jan 30, 2012 17:43

For the families of Newhaven, having to grow and harvest their own food could be more than simply time consuming.

The Charles family invited friends and family over for a lavish party celebrating Bronwyn’s birthday.

It was only the residents who didn’t make the invite list that were afterwards heard grumbling about the money the family had spent on landscaping before the big event.

Watching their daughter become an adult couldn’t help but remind Guy and Amy that they were getting along in years.

They weren’t worried about Bronwyn. She was on the career path of her dreams, and on the day of her birthday had asked her parents’ permission to invite Merlin to move in.

Her parents hadn’t realised she was serious about the boy she’d shared her first kiss with, but agreed. Merlin Ebadi was a shy, but active and playful young man who had dreams of working in entertainment. He seemed to settle in seamlessly with the rest of the family.

Amy was also pleased to hear from her daughter that he seemed to have no problems with Bronwyn’s lycanthropy.

Within a short time of moving in, Merlin asked Bronwyn to marry him. She agreed, but after already having had a large celebration for her birthday, decided they should exchange vows quietly at home.

Their son Augustus, on the other hand, seemed focused only on partying with his friends and dating.

This was especially worrying for Guy who, after achieving the position of Mayor, had planned on his son following his footsteps. Although Augustus had finally begun working with him part time, Guy wasn’t sure if he was mature enough to lead Newhaven when he was no longer around to guide him.
