funny days of summer....

Jun 08, 2005 00:10

just a recap of today so i can look back and laugh in the future:

I woke up at 6:45 and somehow (i really do not know how) made it to swim practice reasonably on time to coach the youth of america. upon arriving to swim practice, cheryl and i began pondering our lack of 15-18 boys and the fact that we do not have enough senior boys to form a relay. without the relay, we lose alot of points every meet, blah blah blah, so we were kind of in a state of panic. suddenly, one of the 11 year old girls pipes up with information that she does in fact have an 18 year old brother and he happens to be sleeping in the car in the parking lot. bingo. cheryl and i took this opportunity to climb in the trunk of the car with this boy and persuade him (via flirting) to join the team and recruit his friends. success. (sidenote: he was hot...and then i realized he is the same age as my brother and i felt like a pedophile...no good.)

after practice i met beth for lunch...my car had been driving all crazy-like and when i returned from dining, i realized it was because i had NOT 1 BUT 2 flat tires. awesome. we decided to take matters into our own hands...being the badasses that we are, we knew we could handle changing a flat tire. SO, clad in miniskirts, we began to unload the mountains of nonsense in my trunk and move it to my backseat. unfortunately, we were parked directly next to the HO-Ho's chinese restaurant front window and EVERYONE eating lunch was staring at us as we began our adventure. We walked past the window several times carrying such items as: a street sign, a turkey baster, fairy wings, spoons, feather boas, a telescope, bras, a football, a half-full bottle of whiskey...needless to say the people in the restaurant were thoroughly entertained and were laughing hysterically at our strange misfortune. suddenly, some random guy comes up all excited to help us out (his name is loren and he's a loan officer and he gets migraines on a regular basis). he went into walgreens and bought us a can of fix-a-flat (spectacular invention), and began performing fix-a-flat surgery on one tire while we removed and replaced the other, all the while trying not to flash the diners at Ho-Ho's in our miniskirts. we were finally successful: my car is now safely back in the knoxville place garage, we have a new friend named loren, and we served as excellent entertainment for Ho-Ho's.

more strange things actually happened today, but i'm super-tired and i have to wake up in t-minus 6 hours, so we'll save it for another time.
