I'm back! Simply put it was the most amazing thing I've ever done in my whole life.
I have crazy jet lag but I'm still on too much of a high to get much sleep.
I have 77 days worth of journal. 17GB of photographs, and an enormous pile of laundry and mail to sort out. All my friends and family are clamoring to see me but all I really want to do is curl up on the sofa with Amy, who sulked for a good few hours but then decided she missed me after all and I was her number 1 person again. Jack looked at me funnily, then switched his attention to the handful of oats and decided he did remember me.
To sum up:
In 11 weeks I have been across the United States coast to coast and back again. I travelled through or stayed in 33 states. We only had a total of 7 days or rain for the whole trip. I have a newfound appreciation for English chocolate and cheese, and think the British could learn a thing or two about American service. We went by greyhound for 7,000 miles. Other forms of transport included plane, car, taxi, bike, helicopter, ferry, light rail, boat, train, paddleboat, kayak and air train. We also stayed with 4 wonderful American families, as well as meeting up with others for the odd evening out. I went on my first ever date. My best friend spent 24 hours a day with each other and didn't have a single argument!
I am poorer, fatter and more tanned than when I left, I am also the happiest I've been for a very long time!
Pictures? Be patient, they're coming!
