Pairing: Garrett/Kate

Summary: Garrett wants to have some fun with Kate.
Notes: Post Breaking Dawn. This is just a set up for something bigger I hope to do. I just wanted to test the waters and see how it feels to write the two of them before I go into it any more. Also had no beta, so sorry for crappy mistakes :(
He had seen Kate at the edge of the forest, about 100 yards away from where he stood. Even without the vampire senses he would have been able to spot that picture of beauty miles away. He knew that it seemed cliche but it was like she had an electric aura around her body. She was such a mystery to him, something about her made him gravitate to her. It was the kind of feeling he only got when it came to exploring new places.
She stopped just at the beginning of the forest. Did she sense him? Well there goes the element of surprise he thought. Instead of sneaking up on her like he had originally planned, he started at her quickly in the
open. Could he have sneaked up on her? Of course he could have. He knew his stealth out weighed her vampire senses. Even if she was older than him, he had an unnatural canny for that sort of thing. The only ones who would be able to be ahead of him were two of the Cullens. Damn mind games.
He was right behind her in less than a second, he whispered into her ear.
"Boo."
She turned her head 90 degrees, so that she could only see him out of her peripheral.
"Your element of surprise is something lacking Nomad"
"Did you really sense me from back there?"
"You have a presence about you."
He gave her a smirk. He knew she liked it because any time he did it she would get the tiniest smile on that perfect face. He took his chances and put his arm around her shoulder and went to her side.
"There's something about you that brings my guard down"
"Maybe its the fact that I could take you down with just the slightest touch?" The tiny smile had turned into her very own smirk.
"Ah, but I like that. So maybe that is the reason."
She sent a small charge of electricity through him, just a twinge really, but enough for him to feel it. His smirk had turned into a full on grin.
"Do you want to shake the mountains with me woman?"
"Actually I was just going out to hunt."
"Get yourself some animal blood? Perhaps a deer?"
"I was thinking more of a bear. They are harder to take down with ... with my gift."
He let out a mischievous laugh. He liked the thought of her using her 'gift' to hunt, it was something he really wanted to see actually.
"Why don't we go get lunch together then? I'm will to try some animal blood, shouldn't be too hard."
"Are you asking me on a date Adventurer?"
He smirked again. Any time she called him 'Nomad' or 'Adventurer' he couldn't help but smirk, he liked it when she did that, it gave him a sense that she wanted more, that she perhaps got off on his lifestyle of
adventure. She had always been in one spot, with her coven and he believed that seeing him gave her a longing of something more. Maybe she believed that they would go on an adventure together, someplace new. If she only knew though, that she was his next great adventure, so anywhere with her would be new and exciting.
"A date would be nice"
He knew that he would hardly be her first, but he could love her so much better than anyone she had ever been with. He would be her first on many other things, make her experience the world with a new set of eyes.
She nodded at him.
"It would."
They set off into the forest together, as if in synchronicity they never were behind or in front of each other, just next to each other. Something caused them to gravitate to each other. Perhaps they were meant for much more he thought. He wasn't sure just yet, but he was damn sure he was going to find out.
