The Jones Beach John Mayer show was SO awesome last night!11!!!!1!
There were so many awesome things that I can't even make full sentences out of them, hence a list:
John Mayer is:
--"a douchebag." No really, he said this himself on stage, mockingly. Hil-larious.
--totally guilty of make all those ridiculous O-faces that Jezebel always talks about. On the jumbotron they're even better.
--totally worth seeing, even in the rain, surrounded by thousands of high schoolers from Long Island. We actually had to tell the ones in front of us to be quiet toward the end of the show because, really? we couldn't hardly hear the music above their squeals--and not about Mr. Mayer and his hotness. The boy in the group was trying to flirt with the this other girl, and unfortunately her friend was sitting in between them. That poor girl stuck in the middle. He leaned over her the entire night, when she wasn't texting some dude stuck in Massapequa. Gawd, I'm old.
--accompanied by an entourage of swans that swam around the stage.
--is the only lover of his frequent, lengthy, often indecipherable ad libs and "jamming."
--guilty of trying out his stand-up on the crowd.
--so tired of "Your Body is a Wonderland" that he threatened to shoot anyone who requested it when he asked the crowd what to play next.
--too old for his fan base because he played blues classic "Crossroads" and no one got it.
--not BB King, as much as he'd like to be.
Of course, there's added snark here for your personal enjoyment. Really, I loved the show. He's the perfect cheesy love song crooner and I think he's hot. Sigh. I felt just like every other 17 year old girl there, except I didn't have to hitch a ride home with my parents. Score!
