Hi, remember me?

Hello! So...it's been forever. Whoops. I would've written this last week, but I had a gajillion things due, and the week before that I was two kinds of sick! Woohoo!

So, to catch up, methinks, I went to Ben's house two weekends ago. His dad came and picked us up from Ben's dorm, which was cool cuz I already met his dad so I didn't have to try to do the whole witty, charming, let-me-impress-you thing in the car. It's a long drive up (about 3 1/2-4 hours), but on the way up we stopped to get cheese. :^) Yes, I love Wisconsin! Plus, Ben bought me a cow. Stuffed animal, that is. Hee hee hee. Her name is Mrs. Mullins, because the cheese place is Mullins' Cheese.

We got to his house and I met da family. His mom (who is very nice), made us a really yummy dinner, and I met his brother Andy, who is a freshman at Rhinelander HS, and his sister Katherine, who's seven. We hung out and Ben gave me the tour. They breed labradors and there was one puppy left and she was adorable, and they have a chihuahua, who can often be found on the shoulder of a family member, thus making him or her look like a pirate. Plus their dogs are adorable. They have a barn (where there used to be horses!) and a chicken coop and the like. :^) Plus, there's a huge field in the middle of their property, and when you look up you can see approximately a gajillion stars. It was so pretty...

On Saturday, his mom let us "sleep in" and cooked breakfast around 8 or 8:30. Heh heh. We chilled for a while, played some Super Smash Bros. with his siblings, and watched Katherine for a while whilst his mom and dad and Andy ran errands. We ended up dropping Katherine off with them and we met his friends Matt and Isaac for lunch at the Friendship House. Isaac had a titanium spork and rocked my socks.

Allie's impress-the-friends moment of the day:
[while discussing pizza we have on campus]
Allie: Ah, good ol' Chicago-style pizza...
Matt: Uch...
Allie: Excuse me, do you have a problem with Chicago-style pizza?
Matt: Yes! It's a loaf of bread with some toppings! I love it when it's really thin and crispy.
Allie: Well, that's because you're strange.
[pause]
Matt, Ben, and Isaac: *crack up*
Allie: *phew*
Ben: Wow, Allie! We've been trying to figure out what's wrong with him for years, and you finally did it! He's just STRANGE.

Ah, guy relations are so much easier than girl relations.

Anyhoo, he showed off Rhinelander some. We went to the Fun Factory, which is this adorable candy shop where you're expecting some guy to come out behind the counter and start singing "Who can make the sun shiiiiiine...", and we met The Hodag. For those of you who have noticed a change in my Facebook picture, you'll notice the Hodag. A guy in Rhinelander made it up and the town loved it so much it became the mascot. It rocks my socks.

His family took us out to dinner at this nice restaurant, and it was very yummy. We talked aboot the upcoming trip, which is going to rock my socks beyond all measure. It was really nice. I really like his family. They're great, we all got along really well.

Sunday morning, Ben woke me up around 8:30 and we laid there for a while, then watched an episode and a half of Walker Texas Ranger. It's JUST SO GOOD. We went upstairs around ten and we got the usual family treatment of sleeping-in: "Oh, wow, welcome to the world of the living! Can't believe you're FINALLY up!" Hee hee hee. We hung out and were planning on leaving around 12:30 for his meeting in Wausau at 2, but one of the other directors called Ben and said they needed to have a meeting before the meeting, so we had to race off to Wausau earlier than expected. We made it, though, I was quite impressed. He dropped me off at Barnes and Noble, which kind of felt like a mirror-world (there was the EXACT same stuff in the kids' section, all rearranged!) and I got a lot of homework done. He came after everything was over, and was very apologetic for how long it took, but it was really no probalo. We drove back to Madtown (and got more cheese on the way!) (and a fox!) and dropped his car off at his aunt and uncle's house, and they took us back to the dorms.

All in all, a very fun weekend.

Must go eat now, but I should probably post more later...

For Now,
Allie
