OMG cats

So I have been home alone with the cats for two whole days now, and they are pretty much nuts.

My laptop being nonfunctional, I have been spending a lot of time at Dad's computer downstairs. Dad's office, and especially the chairs therein, are Silver's territory. Silver the kitten likes having company (upstairs on her bed, on her chairs in the office, or outside for an evening walk) and is very sweet and cuddly. She and Stripe get along fine, and they often share the windowsill in the spare bedroom upstairs, and will occasionally wander into my room. She is very happy that I have been spending lots of time in "her" office.

Stripe is not. My cat is somewhat ... neurotic, and clingy. He expresses this by yodeling any time I am not sitting on my bed petting him. When I do, he will purr and headbutt me for about 15 minutes straight. When I do not, such as when I am downstairs hanging out with the kitten, he wanders around the house and occasionally howls. Unfortunately when I do go upstairs it is mostly to do useful things, like take a shower or do Latin homework. Cats detest showers, and are pretty bad at Latin.

Boots ignores all this. He sits on his spot on the dining room table and occasionally mews to go in or out. However, I think he has been wandering upstairs. I know this because this morning I found three small, stragetically-placed poops on the upstairs landing. This has occurred before, and was perpetrated by someone I will not name, but it begins with Str and ends with ipe. The same perpetrator has been known to pee on things that he wants to mark as his (like his bed, with me in it). And this afternoon I found another strategically-placed poop directly in front of Boots' couch in the living room. I am not sure whether this was offensive (Stripe is not really brave enough to poop in enemy territory) or defensive (Boots has never been known to descend to this kind of behaviour). I am staying out of the poop-strategery, except for strategic use of carpet-cleaner.

And someone else, who is more likely to be a neighbor-cat, has been peeing in/near the garage, which is another matter entirely.

So if you never hear from me again, internets, it is likely because the cats have gone round the bend and killed me. And then pooped on me.
