French and coffee

Aug 25, 2009 23:10

As part of my resolution to experience, I want to try to learn another language.  I picked French, partially because I think it's neat and partially because I took it for a few years in high school. So I stopped at the library and picked up 3 dvds for teaching French to little kids ( Read more... )

He's a jerk. :)

And I'm so jealous that you can go to DC.

You should go too! Failing that, I'll upload pictures and post updates. You can call; we'll put you on speakerphone.

It'll be like the Floo with no face. :)

I totally would go... except I have a final on the 21st! I'm way bummed. But pics, updates and faceless floo would be amazing.

Am very much tempted to say "study on the way there and back" but won't, because supposedly I'm a responsible adult now.

And I have been very much tempted to tell myself to do that as well. This debate has been playing in my head since I figured out the dates conflict.

At least I have the excuse that, at nigh 19, my pre-frontal cortex isn't completely developed and therefore ought not to be able to properly use good judgment and weigh consequences...

Use that excuse until it runs dry. It doesn't work when you're 23 :( And we could all help you study!

*bangs head*

I feel like I would be mega judged by pretty much everyone I have ever met. But I am so tempted!

I could also ask to change my exam date... But I doubt any prof would appreciate me asking on the first day if I could take the final early so that I could go to an HP-subfandom-mini-con

*rolls eyes* You wouldn't be going to an HP-subfandom-mini-con. You'd be going to a...to a...conference focusing on subgenres of children's literature.

Love your reasoning.

We'll see... I'll have to talk to my mommy about it. *scrunches nose up like a little kid* I'm still at that awkward phase where I'm an adult in some respects, but in others, I am a child. Bloody frustrating it is.

It's the main thing I remember college teaching me :)

Agree with the parent thing. It happens when you move home after college, too.

God help me if I move home after college.

Perhaps I'll do this: wait until October and see how I'm doing in the class and how much money I have and how much my mother would disapprove and how much I still want to go then. *nods*
