T-Minus 16 and counting

sixteen days until i leave for madagascar if all goes as planned. i am waiting on my visa for entry into the country. i didn't send the correct photo with my application, so i had to have official passport photos taken. Mailed those off on Monday. They should arrive in Washington D.C. by tomorrow. Then a few more days to process my application. With luck and no other natural disasters hit the east coast or midwest i should have my visa by this time next week. my finances are at a very low ebb right now, but i wont have any major expenses once i get to madagascar so i don't need to bring much with me. its just getting through the next several weeks of paying bills, feeding myself and my critters and taking care of a few more last minute expenses. i ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses today. they are going to be so nice for the summer here and for my trip. fortunately my insurance covers up to 130$ for frames and i only ended up paying 80$ out of pocket for upgraded polarized lenses and the remainder of the frame costs. not to bad. i would like to get another pair of shoes (who doesn't!) since i am not sure i want to take my light hiking shoes...i think they are going to be just to heavy. maybe a pair of trail running shoes like Salomon's. It is just an extra 100 bones i don't have. i already sold a bunch of clothes at my favorite trade shop, got 50 from that. sigh. money issues all the time. at least i am used to scraping by.

as for after my trip i would love to hop on a flight up to seattle for a couple days visit. see a few people and get some new ink to celebrate my first trip out of the country. that is if i have any sort of order to my bank account.

the days are moving by, keeping busy with seven day work weeks, two hours a day at the gym and taking care of my critters helps.
