Rich and I are all settled in to the apartment in Washington. The drive out here was uneventful. I have to mention that I thought North Dakota was the most boring state ever, that was until we hit Montana which surpasses the boredom by about 300 miles. The mountain navigation was skillfully executed by Rich because I had to keep my eyes closed most of the time. It's really scary to be going 25 mph up one side and then go in excess of 60 mph just COASTING coming down the other side- with a Uhaul trailer behind us!
We left MI on Wednesday and got here on Friday. Saturday we moved into the apartment and Monday Rich started work. I have spent the week unpacking things, doing laundry and setting up the house. Rich is loving his job here but the commute is something to be desired. He rides the bus downtown and then rides his bike to the ferry dock. He has a 35 minute ferry ride to get to Bainbridge Island and then he rides his bike about 1/4 of a mile to get to his office. He works 8-5 and then he does it all over again to get home. He usually gets home by 6 depending on traffic.
The company he works for (Autonomix) has hired me to work part-time for them. I'm still looking for jobs and hopefully something will work out soon. In the mean time, we're having a good time finding our way around Edmonds where we live which is about 10 miles from downtown Seattle. Tonight we're going out with Floyd and Wendy to celebrate our move out here so we're headed downtown.
Heather and Dave are coming to visit in early July, Rich's dad and his wife Cindy are coming in late July, Anna and Brandon want to visit some time this summer and my mom keeps talking about a trip out here so we should be in good company for the rest of the summer. If any body else wants to plan a trip to the Pacific Northwest let me know :)
