(no subject)
Just like yesterday Today would have been Foran HS Senior awards night but because of the pandemic and the social distancing and all the executive orders to stay home it was cancelled long before the in person school year ended. The official school year was supposed to end next month so I am not sure if they are still distance learning even now.
Again just like I said yesterday even if they didn’t cancel it I would not have attended and probably asked Chairman Rich to present it. However with the limited funds we have for the scholarship something tells me we would have only done it for one and not both schools.
So my plan to spend the afternoon catching up on letters to my pals came to a screeching halt after the union meeting. During the meeting it was stressed that we finish the union check in with members. We are very much behind on that front. WE have some preparations to make for the next contract and apparently for when we go back to the office in July. I was only able to make a few calls and only two were actually answered.
We received an email announcement about the phases. They will be also working on how to reassign those who can’t do their work in the office or from home. As I said to my organizer I wish to return to work the work I have been doing for nearly 28 years. I can’t begin to think of finding another position and I am certainly not ready to retire. So this is freaking me out a little.
I also got a phone call frm lawyer Bob. He out and out lied to me when he said my sister was chasing him down with phone calls and so he thought there was something wrong with me. I told him I was fine but that I did have the hospital visit and I told him I was doing some cleaning. He took that as the beginning of “time to get her to change her mind”. He wasn’t able to talk long but the minute we got off I called Liz and left a message. She confirmed in a text that he had called three times and she called him back (playing telephone tag). She was sorry he upset me.
While waiting for Liz’s return call or even text I couldn’t help but think that maybe the two of them were playing me again. May be she did call him first, and that either of them are manipulating the situation to get me out of the house. I admit it is a little out there but I believe her over him. Needless to say he hasn’t called me back.
I did get a response from Liz. She did speak to him this morning finally. She wanted me to know that he is trying to honor Mom’s legacy and that he is trying to look after me like she would have. She admits she told him about the plumbing issue. He was being a control freak about it. He wanted to know if I looked into it or not. Now as you can see I have linked to it and you may find that TMI. I am just trying to give you a better understanding of it because I don’t always think I can summarize the thoughts of it well.
I was supposed to get the laptop battery yesterday. I haven’t been able to track it since it was miss-directed to SC last Friday. They promised to resend another one and it would be here yesterday. It never arrived. I sent an email this morning after receiving one from customer service. They haven’t responded yet but they wanted me to go back to the customer service. I hope it comes today (as of right now it looks like I am not getting any packages or mail today). I did send another email around 1. It should take a couple of days before responding.
What I did get yesterday thrilled me beyond anything. It was a note from my niece Emily with pictures of me with her and my nephew James when they were younger. It on one of my trips to visit them must have been during summer.
The cats are sleeping right now. Sky had a couple of hairballs yesterday and I am not sure if my picking him up so many times that it is causing it or contributing it. He hasn’t done anything today. They did get up after their morning nap and went back and I am pretty sure that in the next 45 minutes they will be up for dinner.
I went outside to put the garbage out and chatted with Neighbor Chris#1 and while we were out there someone released a bunch of balloons from the beach down the street. I am thinking it’s for their graduation.
When I got back I found Sky ambling around so we spend some quite cuddling time together:
I am making an early dinner of lamb chops so that I am not eating during the coffee/happy hour social tonight.
I might work on the letters that I promised myself in yesterday’s pen pal blog.
