Word of the Day
Gung-ho: \ GUHNG-HO \ , adjective; 1. Wholeheartedly enthusiastic and loyal; eager; zealous.
2. In a successful manner.
Too much of the past has come to bear on the present and your pride can't take any more reminders of what didn't go right. For the longest time, you've felt a need to start all over again. With not enough support and too many debts, you haven't been able to budge until now. As much as it pains you to have to do this, you not only see that it's what's best for everyone, you're totally clear that you've got nothing to lose. When it comes time to change, trust that you will have plenty of support and that others will benefit as much from your decision as you do. ~ Cal Garrison

Song of the Day
I've been incredibly productive over the past two days .. for everything but housework. Today's the day for cleaning carpets :\
Yesterday was fun. I drove Aunt to the airport again (she's a globe trotter!), then went to lunch and did a bit of shopping. I needed walking shoes in a bad way, so my first stop was Famous Footwear. While talking to the sales clerk (she's one of those rare, amazingly personable salespeople who makes you feel like she's been your friend for ages) about my exercise goals, she told me about a sale on those weird looking "fitness" shoes. I was like, no thanks. My knees are a wreck and I don't think those would do anything but cause more problems. She asked for specifics of my knee problems and then smiled. "That's the very reason you need these shoes." Considering that I was holding a pair of 60 dollar shoes in my hand, and she was trying to get me interested in a 39 dollar pair ... I listened. She has knee and back problems, but since wearing these shoes to work every day for the past three months, she no longer goes home at the end of the day with swollen joints and mucho pain. They're designed to "take the impact off your body". I now have "fitness" shoes :D And so far, I'm apt to believe every word out of her mouth. I did something after putting on those shoes I haven't been able to do for quite some time - I walked around the mall for two hours and didn't feel like collapsing afterward.
In fact, I left there and walked around a bookstore for another hour :D I'll be taking those weird looking shoes for another walk here in a bit. It's Patches' 15th birthday, and to celebrate, I'm going to let her do her very favorite thing - put the leash on her and let her go sniff every tree from here to six blocks away. Happy Birthday!
I'm so proud of myself for completing (and doing well on) assignments that I've submitted EARLY, I just can't stand myself ;) But homework is all over until tomorrow, because today is CHORE DAY. Here and at Annie's. May I have your sympathy?
Hows y'all?
