I had planned to write something more detailed... but I'm too excited to refrain from posting! As the heading says, I'm now "officially" engaged. Yes, we've been planning the wedding for a while, but Jason wanted the actual proposal to be a surprise. I thought our weekend was going to be spent staying at his parents' house, attending a softball tournament, shopping once again for a ring (which I thought he still hadn't purchased), and doing physics homework. Needless to say, I was very surprised!!!
On Friday night, Jason surprised me with a suite at the Maison St. Charles (one of MANY surprises for the weekend). Rose petals led the way in.
A mixed spring bouquet graced the desk. The stargazers are SO fragrant!!! Jason chose each color in the bouquet for it's Victorian meaning. =)
A beautiful bouquet of roses was placed on a side table.
The view toward the door is as pretty as the view in!
The BEST view in the room! On Saturday night, I took a picture of Jason right after we returned from dinner at Emeril's Delmonico. He had asked my mom to drop off a nice dress, jewelry and shoes at the suite before I arrived, so that he could surprise me with dinner (how thoughtful!). I still had NO idea that he had already purchased a ring and was about to propose!
Jason had also ordered champagne, which was waiting in the suite when we returned from dinner...
Jason pulled out this antique scrimshaw ringbox when he proposed (I'll keep the beautiful things he said between us...). The box is a family heirloom from my namesake, and he had secretly gotten it from my mom when we first started ring shopping. Inside was MY engagement ring!
The ring... It's EXACTLY the ring I wanted. Jason couldn't have found one I would love more than this!
Another view of the ring... It's perfect, just like him!
And... another view, this time on my finger (it's MUCH more beautiful in real life). Needless to say, I said "yes"!!!! Well... first I cried, and then I said yes =)
=))))) !!!!!!!
