You sprung me, I’m grateful. I love when you tell me not to speak. I owe you.....

Current mood: adored

My new couch arrives today between 12 noon and 3pm!!!! I took down 4 pieces of the old sectional to the dumpster-well, 3 of them really. My downstairs neighbor's boyfriend took the last one from me and took it out. He said I should have taken it for a ride down the stairs. LOL! I'm not sure what the rules are for furniture in the trash, but I'll find out tomorrow morning.

I came home to find the back door wide open and the cat hiding in the bathroom. Immediately freaked out that someone had broken in(who wouldn't). This wasn't helped by the fact that some guy was in my kitchen holding a hammer & within reach of my butcher block of sharp knives. Lucky for him the landlord walked in behind me and scared the ever-living hell out of me. I was concentrating on the stranger when he'd caught me unawares. Anyway-replacement parts for the stove are on their way soon and then I can make a new appointment to get the gas back on with Nicor. I SOOOO cannot wait!!!!! I'm not sure I'm exactly fond of the eerie green glow from the clock on it, but it's better than no oven at all. Plus it's got a timer and thermometer! The old one(and when I say old I mean it was 60ish)didn't and the dial wasn't aligned correctly. Bad for baking.

I posted a pic of me in my 2 piece bathing suit in the photos section here. Please don't laugh. I lost 20 pounds and think it's a huge improvement-I know that it's not much to look at yet, but I'm still working on it(I need to do sit-ups, which I loathe, but it's got to be done.). I'm still kind of proud of it. The angle's a little funny, but I was using my phone to take it and the closet door in the bathroom with the full length mirror is probably tilted.

I looked up instructions at www.howto.com (really cool site actually!!!)and fixed the brakes on my bike all by myself! Tom was right-it was totally easy and took me less than a half hour. I actually enjoyed it! I missed that feeling of accomplishment you get when you do something most girls would get a guy to do for them. Plus, men seem impressed by these things.-I'm not sure why yet. If you have an idea/theory/are a guy and are willing to share publicly or privately, let me know. I'm really curious. Is it the tomboy factor-because no one was interested in that when I was younger. I love being a tomboy anyway, not that I know any other way to be since I've always been one. Maybe it's my fiercely independent streak-I don't like asking for help from anyone, much less a guy. I hate that at he first sign of a task needing a bit of strength my coworkers immediately want to call guys to do it for them-not to help, but to do it FOR them. I can't respect helpless women.

Tomorrow after work: vacuum cleaner and nail clippers/covers for the cat.
