In bullet points, as always...
-Today is my day of work on this show! I can't tell you how excited I am! I mean, I could tell you, but it'd have to go behind a friends-lock. Let's just say this was the worst show I've worked on since moving to LA almost 4 years ago.
-I'm feeling a lot of stress from the trip, but I know once the job is done I'll be able to focus on it single-mindedly for a whopping 5 days before getting on a plane. I hope that'll be enough time to wrap up these loose ends.
-Yesterday was Matt's birthday! Happy Birthday dear!!!
-I'm facing the prospect of real unemployment, and a part of me is just so exhausted from this job that I'm not worried. Then the logical part of me, that knows how much money I have in my bank account, gets freaked out.
-As some of you know, the post facility where I've worked for the past 7 months is where they cut Boondock Saints (well, not this exact building cause it's new). They also cut BDS2: All Saints Day here, and just recently they replaced a BDS posted with a brand spanking new BDS2 posted, signed by the cast and crew! So exciting - can't wait to see that movie.
Some sad news.... everyone with a kitty, go give him or her a hug, then come back. My parent's cat, Amme, who they've had for a little less than a year, died last week. I believe they estimated her age at a little over a year old. No one's sure exactly what happened - she was fine one day, and then the next day she couldn't breath, and by the time she got to the vet there was fluid everywhere and everything was swollen.... the vet didn't think she'd last an hour, she was in such bad shape. My mom and dad then had to make the horrible decision to put her to sleep, which they're still wrestling with today. My parent's hadn't had a pet in years, and when Amme adopted them (she started hanging out in the backyard and wouldn't leave until she'd found a place in their hearts) I was so happy for them to have a little companion around the house. My dad especially, who makes a big deal out of not being a pet person, fell head over heels for the tiny fluffy Maine Coon mix. Amme, pronounced Amy, was named after Emma, the first cat to (temporarily) grace my parent's house with her presence. Amme never got to meet her namesake, but I'm sure they would have gotten along, in their own little cat way. RIP Amme, and I'll keep sending virtual hugs to my mom and dad.
As if that's not bad enough, the next day my boss' cat got hit by a car, and the impact broke his pelvis. They did surgery, and they're pretty confident he's on the road to recovery, but he has to live in a crate for the next 6-8 weeks while it heals.
So lots of kitty problems abound. Hug your cat or dog, and give them lots of love and attention!
