I would be more upset by this stupid marketing move, except the SciFi channel hasn't had quality *real* scifi for a long time. Remember when x-files was good, and it was on the scifi channel? And yeah, BSG does belong on the scifi channel, but I can't quite get over all the B- horror/sci-fi shows they play :(
After BSG is gone they'll get rid of all shows that are set in space, and we'll just have psychics, ghosts, bad original series, and BBC shows they've ported over so they don't have to think for themselves. Oh, and the reality shows they air. The last show I worked on was a reality show for Sci Fi, so I have no love for the network at all :)
blech. The opportunity for another scifi channel to open up is here, so maybe that will happen. After all, nerdiness, conventions, space, etc. are becoming cool to the masses!
What reality show did you work on? Was it the one about superheroes?
Y'know, I finally got around to seeing one (it was on in the hour after my show, WCG Ultimate Gamer *plug* *plug*) and you're right-- man, that show was ridiculous. It was the twins episode and only one person found one money tag, no one got caught, and there were wayyyyy too many protective items in their arsenal.
Isn't the term "real-life video game" oxymoronic?
Anyways, I agree this will alienate what little fans they have left after BSG-- although SG•U might bring some back into the fold. I haven't heard anything about a Season 4 yet for Eureka, but hopefully they do it.
