Conundrum

So do I go to West Virginia at the end of the month, and spend about $600 on a plane ticket, or do I skip it and hope against hope that this time next year I'm working a job where I can actually take a few days off? Because I'm not equipped to make this decision on my own, I'm making a pro and con list.

Pro: It's my yearly family reunion that I've been going to since I was a baby. I haven't been in two years due to job/money issues (I wasn't even there when they spread my uncle's ashes near the lake). I dream about Sherwood Lake on a monthly basis. I need to recharge, and Sherwood is my favorite place on earth. I'll get to see family I haven't seen in 2+ years. I'll get two days off of work, in a remote campground with no internet and one pay phone. I'm in a job where I can take two days off work - if I wait till next year I don't know what'll happen.

Con: It'll cost about $700. I just got my bill from the hospital - $1,000. I'll be unemployed in 2+ months, and I have credit card bills to pay off. A lot of the family isn't going this year, so instead of 30 family members they're estimating 15-20. I'll have to fly in and out of an obscure WVa airport (one Delta flight per day, if I miss it I'm stuck there) and it'll take me almost 12 hours to get there. I'll be flying back to Florida when/if this show wraps, so I have that plane ticket expense to look forward to (contrary to what you might think, it's not cheap to fly to Florida).

I've been dreaming about going back for two years, so for the last week I've just been flip-flopping between longing to go and longing to afford basic necessities while unemployed. A large part of me just wants to commit to going, and then figure out how to pay for it later. That's what kids my age do, right?
