Ah... good. This one hasn't exploded...

In response to the displeasure about the heat, I've been working on developing weather-altering systems that are a bit more restrained and less catastrophic than the "drop a small planet on a larger one and let the resulting dust clouds invoke an eternal winter" version ( Read more... )

At least I thought better of it before I practiced inside the city limits? And I thought better of the raining-potatoes spell before attempting to develop one of those as well. But it would have been so handy for acquiring fries to go along with the number of fish that would have been fried if I'd anchored the outlet of the lightning spells into the deep sea, and... well. Never mind. I don't care to wrangle with the lawyers that might be invoked if a stray change in wind direction moved the potato storm over a fragile section of city infrastructure.

I do learn. Really I do. It's just that I seem to be a very hands-on type of learner...

That sounds like something William would have tried....and with the same amount of success, as well.

[ooc: LOL! Potato storm wins all! XD]

William? The exploding-machine-maker, William? I believe I've just been insulted. I did take care to leave the city first, after all.

And it's not as though I have access to the most subtle of tools; the point of lightning materia is to cause the greatest possible amount of bodily harm to your enemies. It's akin to shooting a cannon in order to gain a loud noise and a puff of smoke -- you have to do something with the weapon itself, and... ah, never mind.

I refuse to ask Losstarot about it myself. He has this smirk. I know what he's thinking when he does it; it looks far too much like my own...

[ooc: 'forecast for Saturday, fried fish on the rising tide and it'll be raining hashbrowns, so you may need to bring an umbrella, ketchup, and tartar sauce in addition to sunblock on any expeditions to the beach...' ^___~]

I know about that smirk, and I live with another that's quite similar. I could ask in your behalf?

[ooc: ...Now I want fish n chips. I blame you! :P xD]

But he'd still know. And then I'd get a double dose of the smirk. Never mind; I'll see if I can find someone less smirky.

...

... do ALL mages smirk? I'm starting to wonder if it's congenital, now that I think through the list.

[ooc: Selphie got him started on the idea. XD Maybe lunch tomorrow? *is going to be at brother's birthday then; wonder if they'll have anything fishlike*]

But then I only know two... *smiles*

Hmm. Part of me suggests that you should broaden the sample in the interests of statistical validity. The other part of me suggests that that would involve subjecting yourself to more smirking. Perhaps a review of the city cameras would establish the point one way or the other...

[ooc: *sends virtual fish, on account of how real fish would be pretty nasty by the time they got through the mail in July!*]
