I got rear ended on my way to work today

My slight paranoia about stop and go traffic is confirmed. In the morning I worry that some one will not be paying attention and rear end me. In the evening I worry that I am too tired and not paying attention and will be going like 1 mile/ hour and rear end someone. Lucky today it was the morning half and not the evening half that became reality ( Read more... )

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it was a light tap, it shouldn't be a problem and so long as you didn't even feel jarred, you should be fine.

My last two "accidents" were of that scale as well. Once someone tapped me from behind, it was a light tap and my brakes were off at the time so energy transfered and pushed me foreward instead of denting, and the 2nd time someone rolled backwards into me, again light.

But yeah, you probably did the right thing. It's more hassle to get the information and file all the crap.

Yeah and I know the day I try to follow up on a practically nothing to no damage accident it will be with some asshole who loves to call his lawyer and say that I had slammed on my breaks real hard and that he was somehow forced to hit me by my actions :)

The funny thing is then, that asshole is still at fault.
1. He cannot prove intent.

2. even if you did slam on the brakes hard and he hit you, then it was his fault for following too close. His risky drive caused the accident. You can slam on your breaks however and for whatever reason you want (ever hear of the term brake check? :P), if they hit you, their fault.

Oh yeah I know all that but im saying id get some idiot who would think that he could win with this argument. He's lose, but he'd try which would still be a hassle for me :p
