Alrighty, so its about 1:45 in the morning and I am just so aggravated right now that I cant think of anything better to do than write in this goddamn journal. Maybe I will finally talk about my two weeks in Italy, I know its long coming, but I suppose better late than never...
So I suppose you all know that I really did have a great time, even if it was freaken hotter than hell there and I think I had too high of expectations for some of the cities, because they werent all that great.
Anyways, I absolutely loved staying in France for the first two days because the French Riviera is just to die for. We went swimming in the Mediterranean on the first day there and it was sooo salty that your eyes and lips burned from the water, but it was unbelievably clear blue like the Caribbean. Plus it was warm and had huge waves, so it was bunches of fun. The beach was these huge round rocks though, so you couldnt really like lay out or anything (not that that stopped me because I fell asleep on the beach for like an hour, I just woke up w/ huge marks on me).. btw, on the day that we left we left NYC at like 6 at night here, but then when we landed in Nice it was 10 in the morning and I have an issue sleeping on planes, so I like lost an entire night of sleep, thats why I was sooo tired and fell asleep like anywhere ;) lol..
So after Nice we went to Monaco, or Monte Carlo, which is the richest city-state in the world.. it is sooo pretty and like expensive looking there (we payed like 6 bucks for a cup of fountain soda at a restaurant!!) and it was gorgeous because it was like built around this like small gulf, and everything was like in a little area.. idk how to explain it, when i get pictures I will post them..
We also went to this famous perfume making store called Fragonard in France that makes all of these perfumes (obviously) and soaps and lotions, and they make them right there in the store so they like make very few and dont ship them out or anything.. thats why it was really expensive, but it was definitely cool to see the factory and such..
When we finally got into Italy we first stopped in this small town that had like a Communist Fair (we definitely didn't know until a lot later that that was what it was) but it was pretty cool because they were a ton of shops and dancing (not that I was lol) and like restaurants set up.. its was definitely neat.. PLus our hotel had this great view of the ocean because we were like 100 yards away, and one of the nights we got to see like a half hour fire works show from the roof because they were shooting them out of a barge in the ocean, and they were HUGE fireworks- it was unlike anything i Have ever seen on the Fourth of July, and all they were celebrating?? Summer.. lmao
From there we went to Florence, which was one of my favorite spots because they city was just so clean and the people were friendly there. We got to see a leather making factory there and also a really looong tour of the city, but it was really informative and I actually remember a lot of the things that they guy said, so it was umm, fun.. lol
After Florence we went to Venice where we had a very cool gondola ride. However, it was about a 100 degrees that day and it is like just as humid there as it is here, but the sun is sooo much hotter, that it was kinda annoying when the sun was just beating down on you in the boat and you couldnt like move out of the way of it.. but anyways, the boys were in my boat and they tried to tip it over which was annoying, because the water was extremely far from clean and I just really didnt feel like going swimming at that point.. besides, I still had my camera at that point...until about a day later when someone stole it off the beach at like 12:30 in the morning (idk, its a long story)
OK, so I guess because I accidentally mentioned them, this would be an opportune time to tell you guys about the people on the trip who were in out group. The majority of them were from Idaho, like near the resort place that Ashton and Demi live in (yes, they have actually met them on a few occasions, as well as some other celebs).. but yeah, they aren't Mormons, as my Dad had predicted.. actually, the boys (AKA "The Trees", as named by another group member) were bunches of fun, even if they were drunk A LOT, idk, they actually wanted me around all the time and like forced me to hang out w/ them (not that I didnt want to ;) lol) so, I guess its just nice to like feel wanted sometimes?? at least by cute boys? lmao.. There were some girls in the group as well, but they were all a lot younger than me, however they were unbelievably friendly (and like touchy, but I guess thats like umm, cute lol, idk, you know I dont like to be touched, but I think they may have actually forced me to get over that) but yeah, they like loved me.. I suppose I just wished I had hung out w/ them more because they were soo much fun to be around- there was one girl who was like 17 on the trip, but I dont think she liked me much; I do actually know why, but I'm not going to get into it lol..anyways, I guess i dont really want to elaborate because this whole like storytime has turned into a huge ordeal, so if you really want to know all the details and you dont already, IM me...
Yeah, well I'm going to try and not be sooo elaborate from here on out, because I feel bad for you if you're still reading this lmao..The last place that we went to was Rome, and we had to take a 5 hour train ride from Milan to Rome.. now heres where it gets interesting lol.. First I like lost my luggage on the train because some random old guy thought it was his and brought it like 4 trains back and then left it; then I had to like carry it back but my luggage was like 70 pounds and I couldnt carry it without like knocking out random passengers in the process so one of the boys, who actually went w/ me to find my luggage because he was such a sweetheart and like saw how upset I was that I couldnt find my luggage, carried it back the 4 cars for me (ahh, i ::heart:: him lol).. Next, we actually had to evacuate the train (all our luggage too!!) at the first stop because there was a bomb scare when some random guy jumped on the train and left something in the bathroom, then hopped off again and made a run for it.. yeah, so that was bunches of fun, haha.. all in all, the 5 hours soon became 8 and I thought I was going to die from boredom on the train because everyone was sleeping except for me lol..
Rome was really cool, but it was sooo hot there that I had a hard time concentrating on our like 9 hour tour (and no, I'm not elaborating- It went from 9 in the morning until 6 at night).. But we got to see a lot of the Vatican City and also the Roman ruins, the Colosseum and a lot of squares throughout the city w/ fountains, including the Trevi Fountain, which was soo pretty..then we left from Rome after three days, which was probably good because I was soooo tired that I was like sick on the day we left- I honestly couldnt stay awake or function, I basically slept the day away.. (like in the airport :P lol)
Yeah, so I guess if you've read this far your either really really bored, or you actually care about my once-a-month update :) lol..
Hopefully you didnt die from boredom while reading this! :) lol.. when I get pictures from the Cali people (who I didnt mention because they were like in their 30s, but they did hang out w/ us at some points and were really really nice, so, yeah, idk lol) anyways, I'll be sure to put some of them up here so you can see what they look like- even if we are in college by then..
Haha, you want to know whats funny? My Dad is like already planning another trip for next summer.. but hey, I'm not complaining- Europe was a blast! :)
