Certain events have led me to believe my dad might be a closet democrat:
Exhibit A: Last year he met Hillary Rodham Clinton and--wait for it, wait for it--said he liked her a lot.
Exhibit B: TODAY MY DAD HAD BREAKFAST WITH BARACK OBAMA. And Mayor Daley, Gov. Blagojavich, Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr, and others for an Operation PUSH civil rights progressive benefit. He said Obama was "Very slick. Very tall and good looking. Very graceful, very personable."
If Martin Luther King Jr Day can bring together far right-wingers (or rather, "We're not really republicans, we just don't like democrats") AND far left-wingers, that in itself is a success.
