My days lately are full of summer photos, packing, Hemingway short stories, music, and goodbyefornows. Wu Tang, Balkan gypsy music, Jurassic 5, Cesaria Evora, and Bob Dylan "No Direction Home: The Soundtrack -- The Bootleg Series Vol. 7" are getting me through packing. For what is the Bob Dylan bootleg album the soundtrack, you ask? Why, a documentary by MARTIN SCORSESE about Dylan's career from 1959 - 1966. Cream away.

Also, my sister and I have been SO tight lately. We finally get each other, I think. And we sit in my bed together and whine in funny voices and read. It's nice.

Summer is offically ended. I really feel it, because I watched the last episode of "Stella" yesterday. The New Orleans flood is so awful. It's such a tragedy. The city is 10ft below sea level, so they can't drain it, the levees are underwater! We have family friends who live in NO who were out of town when this happened, so they lost everything. They couldn't prepare, they couldn't do anything, they didn't even know Katrina was headed there. They're staying at our house this weekend. I want to find some service project to go to NO and rebuild.

I valiantly make my return to Ann Arbor tomorrow. And to a bbq with my bitches and hos and our families. BITCHES AND HOS!
