You didn't take the spam thing seriously, did you? This, though, has some thinky stuff: Terra. Yay.

Oooooooh. Amanda Conner. Hi, good cheesecake lady!

I'm looking forward to this Terra mini idea. With some reservations, though. Terra's characterization has been messed up before.

The original Terra, Tara Markov I, was a psycho. She infiltrated the Titans knowing that she was being used by Deathstroke to fulfill his contract with the H.I.V.E. She and Deathstroke were canonical lovers; in my head, she seduced him, because that would fit with what I know of her based on the -- admittedly incomplete -- scans of the Judas Contract storyline I've absorbed. That isn't, of course, meant to excuse him for bad behavior and general stupidity re: Terra. Slade, sleeping with the crazy geokinetic fifteen-year-old (or so) operative is a BAD PLAN. Also illegal, as it's statutory rape.

The animated Terra was *not* a psycho. Her relationship with Beast Boy was a mutual, sweet crush; comics Terra loathed all the Titans, from what I can tell. Animated Terra regretted her mistakes and turned against animated Slade, who is a whole new can of worms from his comics counterpart. Comics Terra took up a job Deathstroke turned down: she infiltrated the family of an African king and killed him, thus catching Deathstroke's attention. Terra in the comics, like Terra in the cartoon, both died due to their powers; comics Terra, thinking that Deathstroke was turning against her when Jericho used his father's body and skills to fight her, brought the complex crashing down. Animated Terra accidentally awoke a volcano underneath Jump when she broke Slade's control over her body -- the suit she was wearing was designed to let Slade use her geokinetic abilities, it's odd, okay? -- and died bringing it back under control.

Look, I don't write canon, I just summarize it. Canon is crack.

The second comics version of Terra, on the other hand, is a cloned version of her, utterly terrified that she could be the same psychopathic traitor that Terra I was.

Animated Terra and comics Terra(s) are pretty different, and I'm curious about which version this mini will go with. I'd rather they use comics' Judas Contract arc, honestly, rather than the cartoon's. Also, I don't want Deathstroke's character to be streamlined to go more with cartoon Slade's character re: their treatment of and motivation towards Terra.

Yes, of course I'd bring Slade into it with more than just Terra's history. I'm *me*.

ETA: old entry of Ratcreature's re: the Judas Contract storyline that also mentions Slade/Terra. http://ratcreature.livejournal.com/77511.html
