Dear everyone who told me to read Young Avengers:
You’re right. I love it.
Well. To be more precise, I love the first six issues massively and uncomplicatedly. The last six issues and the YA Special… not so much.
Eli is *wonderful*. I want him to meet Nighthawk. I want him to meet Orpheus, (insert here, of course, rage wrt War Games) and also Batman. I want to smoosh him and Bucky together. I want Eli gen. I want Eli/Kate. I… kind of want Eli and Steve maybe with a slash there.
The Eli Revelation made me spit *nails*. I just dsksdssdkfdsfdskjfskj RARGH.
Kate is hardcore awesome. BWEE KATE. The scene with her sister in the Special was too cute. I want her to team up with Huntress. I want her to team up with Speedy. Simultaneously, I want her to stay far far away from Ollie. I want Kate gen. I want Cassie/Kate.
The revelation that she’s Heroic and Driven and Focused because she was kidnapped-maybe-raped didn’t tick me off as much as The Eli Revelation, mostly because I’d been halfway expecting Kate’s backstory. Blargh.
Cassie makes me want to hug her and feed her chocolate. And also smoosh her with Kate. Possibly I also want her to meet Robin.
Tommy is kind of cool, in that “Kid, get some therapy stat” way. Billy and Teddy are adorable, and I adore Billy’s meeting with the Scarlet Witch in the Special. Iron Lad broke my heart.
Eli and Kate and Cassie are the bestest evers, yes.
And now bed. Because tomorrow I am discussing cape morality, and religion in Gaiman's works, and Beagle's The Last Unicorn, and getting pictures with various cosplayers, and EEEEEEEEEEEEE.
