Want / Don't Want: A Zutara Fanfic Discussion
I thought I'd liven up this community with a little fanfic discussion, if any are so inclined to participate. Often on here we will have fic recs, but how about holding a discussion on what kind of Zutara fics you'd like to read and what you're sick of seeing?
So feel free to offer some plot ideas (but only ones you're willing to part with) and/or tell us what ideas and pitfalls new writers need to avoid.
Want: I'd like to see some original and creative Zutara spins of classic stories, but where the plot and characterisation are still relevant to the AtLA world (i.e. you're simply not re-writing classics and switching out names). Some classics stories that I'd be interested in seeing turned into Zutara fics are Casablanca, Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina, Pocahontas, and Doctor Zhivago, to name a few.
Don't Want: I dislike AU high school fics with a passion. I just do. I can't explain it. Maybe because they're overdone or maybe because I just can't stand high school fics. But, ugh, please no more! XD P.S. The only one I liked was the webcomic by Irrel and it wasn't really a high school story since most of the Zutara moments take place when they were quite young and then again at university, and... well, it's a comic.
