Today was just about perfect. It was a mix of bumming, pampering, productiveness and whimsical childlike playtime, topped off with a delicious dinner, cherry cheese-cake pie, and favorite TV shows.
Courtney and I woke up this morning, played CIV IV until lunch time, went to home depot to pick up stuff for a planting project, and THEN we went to get PEDICURES! I casually asked Courtney if he wanted to try one the other day, expecting a polite but firm no or at least a lengthy convincing process, and instead he said "yeah I'll give it a try." The place I go to gives you a long massage, then a hot stone massage, followed by a shoulder rub while your nails are drying. Of course only my nails really needed to dry but Courtney still got the hot towel shoulder massage treatment. It was so much fun.
What better activity to follow up pedicures with than sledding! Feras, Ed and I all went sledding pretty much as soon as my nails dried. I have a nifty bruise on my hip to show for it, too. I haven't been sledding in forever! While we went sledding Courtney started the hard work of priming for our planters (we are going to use them to grow plants from seed). After priming Courtney made us a steak dinner (mmmm rare steak). After dinner we ate some (a lot) of Courtney's mom's cherry cheese cake pie.
As for presents, I have a new electric tea kettle and Courtney has new tiger slippers just in time for the year of the tiger. Yay!
