For a short while after he hung up I was part-way convinced bad things would happen -- especially if I went online.

Pulling the internet connection strikes me as very smart, not because I think he had any way to access your computer (certainly not without your permission) but because that way you *knew* he couldn't.

There's a deal of comfort in knowing that if he did have some kind of advanced hacking skillz virus up his sleeve, it'd only get as far as the end of his arm :)

I agree with dichroic, that you were smart to pull the internet connection, but I also liked the fact that you kept questioning him and putting him on the spot.

As well as taking up all his time! That's probably what pissed him the most was that you were wasting HIS time. Not him wasting your time.
