Things I saw this weekend:
A giant metal bean
Lots of people
Flogging Molly (no pics, but they drank a LOT of Guiness and we all got rowdy)
DJ Dangermouse...
and Cee Lo Green (the Soul Machine)...
being Gnarles Barkley...
In front of awesome album art...
covering a Radiohead song.
The Chicago skyline from the other side
The sun setting on the Chicago skyline while waiting for NIN to start
NIN performing Closer and March of the Pigs under the Chicago skyline at dusk
More good older NIN songs before he broke out the new slow instrumental shit
Trent looks more like a cross between Quentin Tarintino and Henry Rollins now. He's old X3
The big ass fountain all lit up (couldn't get pics because it was all dark and the fountain was the brightest light source
Kanye West rappin about his momma (no pics, it was very dark and he had a shitload of lights, smoke machines, and sparks)
Kanye West rappin about how much he loves Chi Town
Kanye West kneeling in a corner of the stage while the band and soulful backup singers cover Journey's Don't Stop Believin
In all, it was a hell of a Sunday. Rage Against the Machine played Saturday, but I'm not that upset I missed it since there really weren't that many other bands I would have wanted to see Saturday. We showed up at Lollapalooza around 3, and stayed until the end watching bands we liked and walking past great DJ tents.
